It's a shame that Quanta Plus isn't really just Quanta Plus anymore and is just a screwed up mixture of who-knows-what that doesn't work, has absolutely zero intuitiveness. It used to be the greatest web editor now it's crap.

Emacs or Qt Creator.... why must I choose only one? well I'm going with Emacs since realistically I do use it more than Qt Creator. But I admit for C++ with Qt, I wouldn't want to be without Qt Creator.

RStudio??

Just as R is soaring in popularity in the programming language stakes (and is included in the language poll) so too RStudio is becoming the premier IDE for use with R. It might be interesting to see if it gets many votes.

Like last year, my favorite isn't listed. I use SciTE with some addons for web development. I can upload and download web files that I'm editing through SciTE.

fldev is a useful IDE choice for older or low resource systems. It's available from Sourceforge.

I don't think it is open-source.

I chose Netbeans simply because it is the only one in the list that I used. Mostly however, I just code directly in Vim, so I am with NateCK - where IS Vim? Though I will admit, I know many who use Qt. I really should give that a try sometime.

It's in the Text Editor category.
