What distribution do you think is best suited for a server environment?

My home server runs on Slackware, my organization's on CentOS/RHEL.
Thus I selected Slackware

Slack...is there another server distro...never noticed.

I have never been disappointed with CentOS and plan to continue using it in the future. Got my vote!

There are other great options to choose from, though.

I voted for Slackware due to its stability and its use of sysVinit with no plans of switching to systemd.

Debian returned to the top this year even though systemd is the default init on the latest stable version. There are instructions available to change the init to sysVinit. Another project that looks promising is Devuan which was founded to retain the freedom of users to use an init other than systemd. Devuan is still at alpha state.
