I voted Thunderbird but will check some other solutions - I have never heard of N1.

Mutt. It has been worth every bit of the effort I put into learning how to set up all the M?As.

Amongst the GUI clients, Claws/Sylpheed is easily my favorite.

Come to think of it, I rather like Seamonkey mail because of its integration with the Seamonkey browser and it's offering a "Send in plain text" option.

Most email clients need serious improvements. I loved Claws with POP3, but its IMAP support is really precarious. I have been using Thunderbird, but it really needs many improvements, and seems to be slowly dying. I voted for the new N1, I hope it won't disappoint.

I really hope someone picks up Thunderbird after Mozilla drops it.
